In 1995, after five years of traveling for two weeks a month for medical malpractice defense work, I decided to open the Law Offices of James M. Miller. This allowed me to spend more time at home with my family, and allowed me to become more involved with my children’s activities.
Over the next seven years, my firm flourished—first in Lake Mary, and then in Altamonte Springs. During this period, I became more involved in church, civic organizations, and other community activities. Most importantly, I could enjoy being with my family, and I could watch my kids grow up.
This meant the world to me.
Working in my private practice, I not only gained an appreciation for being an attorney at law, but a counselor of law as well. Through the years, my practice has been built around the understanding that it’s not only important to know the law. It’s important to be able to communicate the law to my clients.
Being a counselor at law also entails being able to appreciate the situation. This means understanding the feelings of my clients—always being there to convey guidance and support. The stability and control that comes from this type of attorney-client relationship is something I’m proud to have developed with my clients over the years, and it’s something I look forward to developing with my new clients in the years to come.
Put simply, the philosophy (and mission) of the Law Offices of James M. Miller has always been to provide great, solid, quality work to my clients at a reasonable price.
